FC Red Star Belgrade, also known as FK Crvena Zvezda, is widely considered the greatest Eastern European club of all time. The club has won every major trophy in former Yugoslavia (now Serbia). The late 90s are often referred to as the Golden Era in the club’s history. Many world-class players emerged from the renowned FC Red Star Academy or were discovered through an extensive scouting network. These players formed the backbone of the team that clinched the 1990-1991 European Cup, which is regarded as the club’s greatest achievement in its rich history.

This summer, from June 17-21, the official FC Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) camp will be held at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) campus located at 900 W. 14th Place, Chicago, Illinois. We invite boys and girls aged 6-18 to join us and learn the “Red Star Way” of playing soccer from the Red Star Academy coaches, under the supervision of Mr. Nikola Jelic, FC Red Star Youth Academy Director. Players who demonstrate exceptional abilities will be offered the opportunity to participate in a week-long Red Star Academy experience in Belgrade, Serbia.

PLAYER TESTING

Campers will undergo evaluation on the first day of the camp and will be assigned to appropriate groups based on their skill level and age to ensure a positive experience for all throughout the week.

THE RED STAR WAY

Introduction to the Red Star way of playing soccer: The morning session will focus on ball control and technical aspects of the game, while the afternoon session will reinforce everything learned that day in real game situations.

INDIVIDUAL vs TEAM PLAY

Players will begin with intense 1v1, 2v2, 3v2, and 3v3 drills while coaches observe and offer immediate feedback. In the afternoon session, we will shift from individual play to team-based open play, focusing on both attacking and defending as a team.

FINISHING & DEFENDING

Dribble like Dejan Savićević, pass like Dejan Stanković, and defend like Nemanja Vidić. FC Red Star coaches will lead campers through a series of physical, technical, tactical, and mental challenges to help them improve their defending, passing, and finishing skills.

GRADUATION DAY

Campers will be tested on all the elements they have learned throughout the week. They will also participate in tournament-like scrimmages, crossbar challenges, and the famous World Cup game. Coaches will sign autographs, take photos with all campers, and issue diplomas before we officially say goodbye until next summer.

The Red Star Camps offer a 5-day or 30-hour training program led by official Red Star Academy coaches. This program follows the established Red Star Academy Curriculum. The camp fee includes the Red Star Camp Uniform Kit, which includes a jersey, shorts, and socks. Upon successful completion of the camp, campers will receive a certified diploma from the Red Star Soccer Camp. Outstanding campers (Camp MVPs) will have the chance to take part in special soccer events hosted by Red Star Academy in Serbia, providing an opportunity for an ultimate FC Red Star pro player experience and the chance to play at the highest level.

Red Star camps cater to both boys and girls between the ages of 6 (born 2019) and 18 (born 2006). The campers will be grouped based on their age and skill level. We welcome both beginners and highly experienced players to join and learn soccer skills from the official Red Star Academy coaches under the supervision of the Red Star Academy Director, Mr. Nikola Jelić. Unlike many other camps, the technical team is actively involved with Red Star Youth Academy throughout the year. The Technical Director and coaches will be hands-on with the camp attendees to provide an unforgettable camp experience for all participants.

One (1) coach for every 12-14 players

If you want to register a group of 10 or more players, contact us at camps@fcredstarchicago.com or call 312.450.0861 and we will give you specific instructions on how to claim a $100 discount per player. When registering siblings, the discount will be applied during the checkout. We also offer multi-week discounts and installment plans!

Lunch is NOT included in the camp cost. All participants must bring their own lunch in an adequate lunch box. Lunch break is daily from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m

Campers must bring Soccer cleats or gym shoes, shin guards, an individual water bottle, sunscreen, and a full camp kit (Red Star soccer camp jersey, shorts, socks). All participants must bring their own lunch and snacks in an adequate lunch box.

Parents are welcome to visit camp sessions but must not interfere with the program. Designated areas will be provided for observation.

Red Star Academy is proud to present the Selected Elite Soccer Players event in Belgrade, Serbia. The MVPs from each camp will be selected and will get the chance to participate at unique soccer opportunities hosted by Red Star Academy Belgrade. This event provides the ultimate Red Star Academy experience and allows players to play at the top of their game. At the end of each camp, we will provide more information about who made the MVP selection.

In the event of inclement weather conditions during the camp, all campers will be required to leave the field and head towards the designated shelter area. If the camp is cancelled once it has started, you will be asked to pick up your child(ren). If available we may secure an indoor training facility on short notice. Unfortunately, no refunds will be provided in the event that a camp must be interrupted or cancelled due to reasons beyond our control, such as bad weather.

If you choose to cancel your registration, we must receive written notice of said cancellation either via certified mail, overnight courier, or e-mail sent to camps@fcredstarchicago.com (with confirmation of receipt from us), and you shall be subject to the following cancellation fee:
 
If we receive a written notice prior 60 days of the camp date, the organization will retain $95.00 as a compensation for the registration expenses.
 
If we receive a written notice between 60-30 days of the camp date, the organization will retain 50% of the payment fee paid.
 
If we receive a written notice of cancelation within 30 days of the camp date, there will be no refunds of the amount paid for the Red Star Soccer Camps.
 
If the participant simply does not show up to the camp, there will be no refunds for the amount paid.
